Get ready for it… After seeing these photos from Ashley and Bill’s wedding, you might just be a happier person.  I’m sorry… If you’re not feeling like you need that today, then don’t bother scrolling down.  The energy is infectious and I would hate to bother you with so much amazingness that you just cant help but smile.  BUT… if you’re down for a little dose of AWESOME… then you’re in the right place!!!

The energy that these two exude is totally unmistakeable.  I can honestly say that every experience I’ve had with these two since we first connected about their engagement session has left me feeling happier.  My cheeks are sore from smiling, my heart is full from laughing, and I am just proud to know such quality people.  Ashley brings a smile to life that could overpower the sun, and Bill’s easy going light heartedness could tame a tiger!!!!

As they told me their story of months and months of flying back and forth to see each other while one was working in one town and another was going to school in another it just made me happy that their lives were finally coming together… Moving in to an apartment in San Francisco, getting married, and finally not just being together, but being CLOSE together.  These were surly reasons to celebrate, and that they did!!!

Yes, we snuck on to the rooftop of the Julia Morgan Ballroom!

Getting ready at the Omni Hotel… Makes for a great spot downtown to prep!

Hey oh, HEYYYYY!!!!  (so classy with your paper cups!)

Could not be cuter!

Lemme show you something!

The first of serval dude photos that are gonna make you laugh…

Bill’s face shows so much anticipation.  Love it.

And the BIG reveal!!!!

Somewhere in the background are the security guards that kicked us out of this spot.  #whoops!

Just a classic…

Trolly time!

Champs for the pre-wedding celebration!

Boogie before the wedding?  Yes please!

Bill’s ready!

And so is Ashley.  How gorgeous does she look coming down the aisle with her dad.  Just awesome.

The Julian Morgan Ballroom makes for a stunning wedding ceremony…

You may kiss the bride!

I gottchu babe!

Rooftop shot!

Hilary Munday did an INCREDIBLE job of bringing the ballroom to life and my good friend Emily Dreblow of Soul Flower Designs took care of the table tops.  STUNNING!

First dance to kick it off!

No shortage of smiles… 😀 😀 😀

Killin it with the toasts!

Smitten ice cream came out and did the desserts.  Dry Ice and all!

Ice Cream is their favorite dessert, so might as well have ice cream spoons instead of cake knives, right?

I see zero people on the dance floor… zero.  ;D

Haha… Amazing.

And a dip to finish the night!

Ashley and Bill… I couldnt be happier and more thankful to have had the opportunity to work with you guys!  I’m sending you all my best wishes to you up in Portland as you continue your adventures… let’s keep in touch! -Colson

Man… what do you do when you’ve been working with a totally kind… loving… cheerful couple and on wedding day it just starts pouring right as you’re headed to the first look, and you can just see sadness and disappointment in the brides face?  My heart felt for Marie… She’s been planning and planning and planning… She selected this venue, V. Sattui Winery, for the very reason that it has a beautiful outdoor patio, and all of  a sudden her vision just seems to be, literally, getting washed away.  Man, that was a TOUGH moment!!!  I kept thinking, let’s just wait this bad boy out… I didn’t want to say anything to Marie except for, “I’m sorry…”  There’s nothing more to be said.  She was sad you guys!  We all were!  Nick was waiting patiently for his bride to present herself, and we were just going to wing it indoors… and then… AND THEN!  AND THEN THE RAIN SLOWED!!!  What!?!?  Could it be!??!  “Okay, Nick, lets go juuuuuuust outside this awning” I said… we’ll put you guys right there and see what happens… “Marie, come on out”  and then it cleared…. Literally… in the 5 minutes of their first look the rain slowed… thick smudgy clouds turned into light puffy sun kissed cotton balls in the sky and we had ourselves a GORGEOUS day… Man… Mother Nature had us freaked!!!  We ran out to the vineyards and busted out some gorgeousness all while smiling in delight at the turn of the weather.  SO so lucky.  Marie’s planner ran down to the ceremony location and told all of the seated guests… “Everybody up!  We’re moving outside!”  Marie’s face… the sense of relief… could be felt everywhere.  So awesome. ;D

Slightly overcast when we rolled up to the Vineyard Country Inn

All the pretty things!

Despite the drizzle at this point, Marie was GLOWING…. ;D

Isn’t she gorgeous?!?!?

Meanwhile… Nick busted out a little disc golf in the morning.  Do NOT get in the way of this man an his disc!!!  lol.  He cleaned up nicely I must say!

Ahh there we go… Just outside the rain

Yep!  Gorgeous!

And OMG look at that!  Rain, what rain!!!!?!?!??

We had some fog roll through on the tail end of the weather… Made for a dramatic backdrop for us!

And there’s Marie… coming down to the perfect wedding she had envisioned. I think everyone was excited to see her smile. ;D

V. Sattui has a special gorgeousness on this outdoor patio for weddings…

BOOM!  Married!

And check out this wine barrel reception room!

Later ya’lls!  (I don’t even say that in real life… it just came out of my caffeinated typing fingers)

Marie and Nick… You guys are awesome.  It’s been so fun getting to know you… Seeing how you two love spending your weekends in Santa Cruz, getting totally treated to a speical dinner in Palo Alto, and now getting to be a part of your wedding, the second of the LaCourte family.  I feel so lucky guys.  Thank you so much for including me in your awesome, special, heatfelt day.  Im so happy for the two of you.  Cheers!

Every couple days I’ll be lounging HARD in my living room at the end of the day… Maybe I’ll throw on “The Bachelor” as I’m winding down (you know… Cuz I’m totally Team Ben) and through the slightly cracked window I’ll hear this laugh wafting through the air from The Pig and Whistle bar across the street.  It’s a loud laugh… Full… Like the laugh that comes from deep within… Immediately I know it’s Kevin.  I’ll holler down to him from my second story window, “Kevin!  Whadduppp!!!!!”  and then Ill finish with something like, “Dude!  Pipe down with the laughing!  It’s almost the rose ceremony!” haha…. uhhh no, thats a lie.  That last part has never been said.  My man card would officially be dead if I said that.

To say Kevin frequents bar across the street from my house is an understatement… it’s like his second living room.  Grabbing a beer with the fellas is just an evening tradition for him.  When I first connected with Jen and Kevin we decided to grab a beer there because… DUH!!!

Immediately the vibe that I got from Jen and Kevin was totally awesome.  They’ve dated for 10 freaking years!!!!  But many were long distance and now they’ve finally connected in SF.  They both were just full of joy and laughter and wanted their wedding day to be a reflection of just that.  For their engagement photos they wanted to have something that would remind them of when they first moved in together (ahem… FINALLY!).

San Francisco Engagement Session

Cafe Muese is the spot where these two would grab a drink for Happy Hour… Always a good time!  San Francisco Fun Engagement Session

Russian Hill Engagement Session

Just up the street from their Russian Hill home there was a park they loved to go to…Transamerica Tower Engagement Session

Spending time up there is one of their favorite memories…

And… getting saucy down on Polk St.  Yep… that happened too!

A little romance to end the shoot…

Jen and Kevin… I know Ill be seeing you in the hood, but so stoked that we took time to honor your original hood here in the city… Russian hill will always hold a special place in your hearts and I hope these photos allow you to remember those beginning times here in SF! -Colson
