Susan and TJ like to play. When we started this engagement session I asked the two of them just to stand over in the lawn and hang out for a bit. “Be yourselves!” I encouraged. Not more than a half a second later, Susan was in TJ’s arms three feet off the ground laughing hysterically. My camera went into hyper drive… click! click! click! This playful spirit also shows in the way that TJ asked Susan to marry him. TJ being a cooking enthusiast, whipped up a dinner for the two of them on their 6 year anniversary. After eating on the back patio, he brought out a box and encouraged her to open it. She took a peek inside, and what does she find? Ahh… wait… it’s… it’s… ANOTHER BOX! “yeah, open that one too!” I can imagine him nervously saying. Inside of that box was another, and so on and so on until fiiiinally she arrive at the box. Im sure Susan was relieved to find a ring instead of yet another tiny box… I mean, what could one put in a box that small!?!
For this engagement session we around San Jose State University, where they both went to college, and afterwards made a quick trip to Kelley Park and the Japanese Friendship Garden inside. I’d never been to that location and could not believe the number of beautiful locations to use. I immediately turned into the “one more shot guy”… “Ohhh yeah, just one more shot!” and then we’d turn a corner and I’d say, “Ohh just one more shot!” Yeah, that happened like 5 times. Sorry guys!
Im looking forward to shooting their wedding next summer at the Palm Event Center.
