I met Amy and Neville at The Great Bridal Expo in San Jose last March. Out of the 300+ brides that walked by, I totally remember my conversation with them because we ended up chatting about their upcoming wedding in Neville’s birth place, Jamaica. Umm how cool is that? Why arn’t all weddings in Jamaica again? Not only are they getting married in a place that could be the envy of any domestic wedding… they also wanted to do their engagement photos in a truly gorgeous location as well. Amy works for a wine and spirits company near Napa, and since they moved to that area in January, they seem to have been knee deep in all things food and wine related (and yes, Im a little bit jealous!). We started the afternoon with a little lunch at The Boon Fly Cafe (which, I’ll have you know offers a BACON Bloody Mary!) and as we drove from the southern part of the valley towards Sterling Vineyards, I can recall no less than 10 restaurants that they RAVED about… pizza, pork, sushi, decadent brunches, you name it, they had a place to find it. Once we got to Sterling we took the tram from the parking lot up to their tasting room at the top of the hill. After a few quick glasses we were back down in the valley cruising south on highway 128 hitting the brakes at vacant fields, vineyards, stacks of barrels and anything else we saw that looked like fun to photograph.
Amy and Neville… thank you so much for sharing your backyard with me, its always fun to be up in Napa, but to do it with two people who know the ins and outs just made it that much better!
